Unfortunately, I ended up not being allowed to go on that backpacking trip after all as they got me in to start my treatment earlier on April 28th instead of May 3rd. I'm glad I started treatment as early as possible though! Instead, we decided to go on a day hike around Johnson Lake. It's about a 3.1km round trip, so it was a nice easy walk. I thought we should do something short just in case I ended up not feeling very well.
I've been feeling like I'm on day 2 of a hangover after a weekend of drinking a lot. So fine for the most part, but wouldn't recommend it. I can usually push through and accomplish things I want to get done! The radiation sessions take a lot out of me so I imagine Thursdays and Fridays will be my worst days, but I'll keep y'all posted!
Anyway, here are some pictures from the hike that I thought I'd share! One of my friends, Colten (follow him on Instagram!), is a photographer and he brought a fancy camera and here are his pictures:
Because the hike was pretty short we found a nice spot by the lake to read for a bit at the end. It was a very pleasant day, and nice to get out and breathe some fresh mountain air.
Looks amazing. Thanks for sharing your journey and Colton's pictures too!
Glad you were able to enjoy a nice day and hike!
Beautiful pics!! So glad you got out and enjoyed the day Chelsea :)
