I don't have any major news or hilarious stories to tell this time, but I wanted to pop on and let everyone know how I'm doing! As of today, I'm 2/3rds of the way done my radiation treatment. I have 2 radiation sessions left this week, and then two more weeks with four treatments each! ((And then of course 5 days of chemo a month for a year but that will be a WALK IN THE PARK compared to this)).
The doctors have no idea how long it will take me to recover after, and as I'd mentioned in an earlier post if it's a low-grade tumour (what we're hoping for) then the recovery will take me much longer, but once I'm recovered I am looking forward to so many things!! Namely: the biggest F-U Chad party ever seen in these parts (hopefully the timing works out that everyone is safely vaccinated and Covid is over around the same time my treatment is). I'm also looking forward to being able to go on runs again, and while I haven't given up on my GAINS goals, working out has been a lot harder than I was anticipating it would be, and I look forward to when simply going up the stairs isn't a workout. I'm also looking forward to not being on so many medications and having fewer (or no) side effects too! And maybe one day I'll be allowed to drive again. And maybe a nice tropical vacation.
I continue to be so grateful for the people in my life who are making this so much easier for me, from simply checking in or sending me memes and animal pictures, to my amazing family cooking me dinner on Thursdays or Fridays when things are hard, to a daily advent gift that my best friends put together that makes it so much easier to get through every day, to the SkipTheDishes gift cards I've received from the amazing people in my life. The support I have gotten has been so amazing and I can not express my gratitude enough 💕
So anyway yeah! Just a quick update to let everyone know I'm doing alright and I hope you are all too :)
You write the best blogs my Chelsea, you are my hero.
Keep going strong! I hope that the days go by quickly and you can make it through this better than ever!
You got this! ❤
I'm also looking forward to when I'm not on steroids anymore! I've gained 10lbs not of the muscular gains kind and that combined with the steroid acne is not doing wonders for my self-confidence hahaha
